I think I read this tip by Sinmastah and it worked for me. Use Dunlop 65 guitar spray wax to remove that glue and a little elbow grease. It worked for me.

Re: Toggle switch plate removal (better before or after)

I voted with! On a traditional Les Paul, there has to be a switch ring! That's very importaint in my eyes! If you want a guitar without a switch ring, go and get yourself a ESP or a LTD...

It is exasperating, innit?
Why don't these dipsticks just search the site and find other dipsticks of a like mind to have a PM fest with?
I personally couldn't give a rat's ass less if a guy wants to take his pickup covers, pickguard, switch ring, or the whole freakin' neck off
FOR GOD'S SAKE!!!!!
Just MHO.

Re: Toggle switch plate removal (better before or after)

I could have posted a photoshopped picture of a female boob with and without a nipple, but I didn't.

Now you know what I think...

Re: Toggle switch plate removal (better before or after)

Well...since this has gone slightly off subject, anybody seen any switch rings that are gold with black letters. If so, I might get one to match my guitar but not put on...
