Epiphone Les Paul Custom Plus Review + Pics

Just got this beauty last night

When I took it out of the box, there was styrofoam everywhere. The bottom strap holder got into a fight with its "bumper"

So I ended up taking everything off it and getting all the crap off it. I put new strings on it and was suprised when I was intonating it. It was nearly perfectly intonated. Only took about a minute of work. The action and frets were absolutely perfect out of the box. Everything except the pickguard was perfect. Somebody did a crappy job cutting that guard. I was going to take it off anyways so it wasn't a problem.

Something I should point out, The guitar has no black on it at all, except n the headstock. It's actually dark red, and semi translucent. When you see it in person, it's noticable. I love it though. I don't want a black guitar. It has a really classy look to it. The binding is very nicely done. There was some paint on some parts of the binding, like little dots. I just scraped it off with my finger.

I planned on changing out the pickups, I thought these pups would suck. But they rock. They beat the crap out of my EMG's on my dad's Paul. The wiring was very clean and the cavities look great. very even coated and smooth, like the rest of the guitar. The speed knobs are great and.... speedy

To sum this up, this guitar is absolutely perfect. The only think I plan on doing to it is putting black pickup mounting rings on instead on gold.

I am paranoid out of my mind about it!!!! i freak out whenever im in that certain light where you see those REALLY fine scratches and it freaks me out. im so anal about it lol.

Looks awesome! Like the look without the pickquard. Good to hear you didn't have problems with your new guitar! Great, that the flame isn't straight from on edge of the body to the other! - To me it looks more attractive when there's an angle at the bookmatched line!

I have a cherry sunburst Custom Plus and I love it!!! It's truly a GREAT guitar!

It easily holds it's own against my Gibson LPs.

p.s. i did alter the photo's, but not in anyway to make the guitar look different. my phone took really really bright pics and i just darkened them.
