I wonder if it has something to do with it being the original? Maybe Slash didnt want there to be an EXACT replica so that way his guitar will always be THE AFD guitar.

No I don't think so. It is just hard to create such a top. You need wood with a similar grain. And you have to simulate the fading process of a 59 burst. So in some lightnings you can actually see some orangish and redish color on the rim and in some lightnings it is completely yellow-brown. It is just amazing.

Made a couple minor cosmetic changes. Not sure about the truss rod cover but I like the toggle ring.

€dit: @utvol: I neither like the toggle ring, nor the truss rod cover. Buy a Gibson truss rod cover and turn the original toggle ring, so you can't see the font

looks way better in my opinion

I'm still waiting for mine, all shipping info says only that the USPS has been notified of a pending shipment. Seller swears it was sent out, and this is normal with USPS tracking procedures. I am starting to get leery about this deal. By the way the Vintage V100 Paradise have some really nice tops

but no Seymour Duncan SAPH-2s and in overall a worse hardware/electronic. Epiphone's way better in my opinion. Besides the ugly headstock. Neither like the Slash art work nor the shape
