I read a review recently here where the reviewer said that they thought that the top was completely solid, no veneer. I'm not sure what to think; opinion seems to be divided. I need to be reunited with my guitar to find out and check.

plain tops like this one definitely have a carved solid maple top. No veneer. This one looks pretty mint.. a lovely example!

If there's anyone out there with an Elite/Elitist Plus Top who could have a look and take a photo that would be great. I'm very intrigued. I don't think I'll be reunited with my Elitist for another few months otherwise I'd do it myself.

I have a 2002 Elite Standard Plus - there's definitely a veneer over the maple cap, could see it when I took the pickups out. Sorry I can't take a photo as I've just put new strings on it.
