Brought home an Epi Standard last night

And spent a grand total of $161.95 on it. I had $200 worth of business trade to use at my friend's music shop and he is blowing out all his cherry burst plus tops at $349.95.

So, for the money, I couldn't resist.

I checked out all 5 he had in stock and this was the clear winner. 9 lbs, low neck angle, straight neck, good frets, good nut, no cosmetic issues and set up great.

I oiled the neck, removed the pickup covers, got rid of the amber knobs and added pointer washers. I'll probably play it for a few days and then post it on Craig's List.

And here it is with my R8 and Tokai.

Re: Brought home an Epi Standard last night

That is a great example of why we should all love cherryburst.

Re: Brought home an Epi Standard last night

I wish they would use less red and make a better transition area.

Re: Brought home an Epi Standard last night

I was hoping for more red, but a better transition would be nice. Just like my Paul.

I had to squeeze the shafts together a bit. If I keep it, I will replace the wiring and pots with CTS, and I know the knobs fit them.

Re: Brought home an Epi Standard last night

I opted for the All Parts Gold Speed knobs.
Best $5 spent.

And I thought I got the deal at $399!
