Woah! I didn't even know they made black 'goldtops'! Is that some kind of a custom job or what?

I'm waiting for a gold '56 goldtop and a midnight ebony Ultra II that I ordered so I'd be jealous about this black beauty if I wasn't about to get that midnight ebony one besides the golden goldtop..

Really nice looking guitar there mate!

Yeah, the two original colours for Les Pauls were Gold and Ebony, but they were both called Goldtops. Just one was an Ebony Goldtop.

Black gold top now that is funny.

But really its a ltd Epi custom with p-90s in place of Humbuckers was out last year.

Nah od, he was referring to Grand Pappy in Chandler's Ebony GoldTop at the end of page 2, not my custom.

. Doesn't it hark back to the early days of LPs when Gibson only made GTs or special order GTs in Ebony? Still confusing I guess.
