Post your pics on the Fake Thread and see what they say. I'm not an expert in spotting replicas. Please keep us posted and good luck

That's standard procedure for Epiphone with factory seconds and refubs. I could be mistaken, but I think it would be marked 2nd if there was a small finish flaw or the like, and USED means something was wrong that it had to be refurbished. After its repaired, they partially remove the original serial number and then put the new serial on to keep a "paper trail" on the guitar. The original is removed to keep people from trying to claim warantee service. If I remember correctly, a guitar marked 2nd still carries the factory warantee, and one marked USED does not. Looks like the guitar was indeed a 59 model, but was finished with Epi standard guts. Hope this helps.

Standard 1959's were made in 2009 only AFAIK. You were told it was an early 00's model which makes sense with that style of Truss Rod Cover. Looks to be a Korean Epiphone, I have seen MiK with the long tenon before as well.

But how many Korean Epi's have you seen with an "F" serial # stamped in? All of the older Epi's I've seen had the gold silk-screen serial. How about the rim burst? The guitar is consistent with the 59, with the exception of the electronics.

I've emailed Gibson and still waiting for a response, because this is frustrating me.

I can tell you that the wiring is not correct for it to be a 1959. Mine has braided cables inside the pot box going to the PUPS. Maybe it's another special edition epi of some sort but I'd say almost 99% it's not a 1959 unless Epiphone changed out the wiring in the guitar.

Many believe it's a actual Epi but they're unsure what kind of Les Paul it is.

Re: Epiphone Limited Edition 1959 Les Paul Standard (pics)

I think it is an Epiphone just not sure of which model. Looks like it could be some sort of special edition that maybe was sent back to Epi and resold as a defective one that was fixed.
