Sorry sbaker for the toubles you now find yourself in. Try your best to get a full refund including return shipping. If the seller does not accomodate you, make sure you utilize the PayPal refund policy as much as you can to get satisfaction, report the seller to eBay for selling you counterfeit goods and I would go so far as to press charges with the FBI as this was interstate counterfeiting.

Lesson learned huh, expensive one, but learned well. Luckily my lesson did not cost me anything when I ended up with a fake from eBay because the seller refunded everything for me including return shipping. He honestly thought he was selling a legit guitar.

Another suggestion concerning buying from eBay, make sure the seller will refund 100% of your purchase price including return shipping if the guitar turns out to be fake. Get this assurance before you bid. If they do not agree, go elsewhere.

Damn man, you are on fire, Way to go man. I am freaking sick of all these fakes though. This is pathetic. I reported all those Epis too, we need to get them off eBay and send a message to sellers that people are on the look out.

On eBay, go to the Dispute Console, and follow directions.
On PayPal, go to the Resolution Center, and click on 'Report a Problem'.
I have had to do it, it is not that hard.
If you used a Visa card #, you can get Visa involved also.

Ebay could employ a permanent person to sit there deleting fakes all day. If there are so many fake guitars on there think how much other stuff there is! Ebay needs to clean up it's act quickly or they will find themselves on the end of a very large fine for all this knock-off gear.

trouble is it pays ebay not to take them off, they dont earn money on people not selling things. They know full well people are selling all types of fake goods via them, and yes they shoudl have a team of people scouring for fake items but they wont, they rely on their little disclaimer when you list an item so they can try and pass the buck.

A few more high profile sueings (maybe from gibson) may make them take some action...

Thinkin thats what needs to happen. Its only a matter of time. The Feds go after child forced laborers that are making 10.00 fake Levis, why not 300.00 guitars? Besides, were getting visibility out there, because the auctioners are changing their game based on what weve said in here. So a lot is happening.

By the way, your quote tears me up every time I read it...

Is the knobs aligning with the stop a dead give away? I see a lot on ebay with the knobs aligning up but everything on the headstock looks normal..

Nah they can vary, if you are curious about a guitar post it on here, and me GNR and a couple other guys will take a look at it and give you the verdict.

Its legit. The knobs are pretty much perfect, or at least what I can see of them. Also it seems like the listing is also legit, nothing that raises any alarms. You should ask for a headstock pic tho.

That looks like the pics I had earlier. It is fake on so many levels, its not even close. Reported and I sent a message to the seller asking why he is selling the worst fake I have ever seen yet.

Well, I can only tell you this, the customs all have identical faults and the standards and studios have the identical faults. Theyre obviously coming from the same place. BUt that one is indeed fake.

Whats amazing is the fact they cant get the first two letters of the serial numbers the same size as the rest. Its always that big Double EE that gives them away. Remember a lot of these guys on Ebay are buying these fakes wholesale and having them "drop shipped" to the auction winner. They are making a huge profit. I was on one Chinese site where they were selling this Custom for around 220.00 and offering them cheaper if you wanted to be a distributer for North America. There's money to be made by these illegal fraudsters and that does not create a rosy future for the consumer. Just say no to Payress and all the other manufacturers of fakes.

Yup, thats one thing I like when spotting these fake guitars, I should take a Pic of that serial number thing and add it to the picture list.

. GNR is doing a lot of this, I just used my amazing photoshop skills to crop the photos and copy and paste them! GNR skims eBay, I think a lot of people should be thanking him!

BTW if anyone is wondering about my broken Epi that was supposed to be getting back like 4 weeks ago, I am picking it up Tuesday. The guy is sorry about the delays, but a lot of things have come up that he didn't see coming. He got the guitar fixed, and he says it is stronger than it was before, and because of the delay he is giving me an hour lesson for free. Score 1

I'm glad I found this place... I would never thought that Epi's would be counterfeited. Now when I cruise craigslist I can have a better chance of not getting a fake.
