They have started branding the bridge and tailpeice

And the EMG HZ have the fast clip like the real ones.

These people are putting alot more effort into the fakes.

Soon, the only thing visually different will be the wood.

hey guys (no hijack), new here (and to lp's). curious...what epi lp has a headstock reading "Epi" where the normal "Epiphone" should be, and "Epiphone" on the truss rod cover? never seen it before...
also posted this question elsewhere - just looking for an answer.

To be honest I would rather buy on eBay than any other site, mainly because payal favors buyers. Also there are plenty out there to buy from.

From what I've learned from the guys here, it's a fake!
The rest of what he's selling looks pretty fake too.
Just look at the crooked knobs of the VS Standard Plus! All 4 going to different directions.

Hi guys,

Looking at purchasing an Epiphone Les Paul Standard.

Have spent a few hours browsing this thread/site to work out if the guitar we are looking at is not a fake.

From what I read here it seems ok except the "h" in the Epiphone on the headstock is in the same place as the fake guitar at the start of this thread !

Pics attached, the serial no. is I05080695.

The owner doesn't know if its a plus top or not (and neither do I). He claims he bought it from ebay a year ago.

The opinion of a more seasoned eye then myself would be appreciated.

Tonight I dreamt about a fake Epiphone. It was so bad, the knobs were tiny and all cluttered together by the tailpiece (like on some of those Musoland fakes, just worse). Its finish was horrible, it was supposed to resemble a guitar that had been stored in a moist dungeon for some years, so it was brownish with long fungus "hair" growing out of it, hahaha.
