I reported a couple of guitars on eBay, thankfully its getting harder. But there are some close calls which I don't like.

No word from Gibson yet, maybe I will try emailing them again.

Thanks guys I managed to withdraw from the sale with kittyrock123, I'd imagine he doesn't really want a fuss to be made so he'd be happy for me to go quietly. I did leave a message with ebay though showing my disappointment in their lack of care for the users of their site.. Whether anyone will actually notice it/care about it is another matter though i guess

Question - do you think Gibson / Epiphone are actually doing anything about this problem. You guys are doing a lot of (good) work here but do you get the feeling that G & E arent actually doing anything, otherwise surely theyd have guys doing exactly the same thing, but I dont see other auctions being pulled short, only the ones t hat youre reporting, and even then ebay dont seem to be in too much of a hurry to help either...

keep up the work man, those last posts where the guys have not bought or are returning guitars is what its for...

Yes, its pretty frustrating. It would indeed be nice to hear something from the "big cheese" on our efforts. Would be nice to know whether or not someone actually cares if the fakes are getting by or not. Seems like Ebay doesnt feel threatened at all. They havent removed ANY items or sellers for the last 2 or 3 pages of fakes posted & reported. But it DOES keep people who read these posts from buying them and at least gives them somewhere to go to verify their guitars. So its discouraging on one hand, yet gratifying on the other.

Wow, that's sounds a lot better than what I'm getting. My claim is just sitting there waiting for the seller to respond by 7/17. Sin & Guns: Keep up the good work. I think it's very important and I for one appreciate the hell out of it, even though I will not be buying anything via eBay in the foreseeable future. I don't think eBay/Paypal will get serious until Gibson does. I am disappointed almost to the point of surprise that Gibson is not showing more interest. The pickguard screw too close to the edge-always a dead givaway, the Epiphone lettering too fat and too close to the edge, and the crappy advertising lingo.

Thats a typo. Kittyrock doesn't know he is selling fake guitars. Read the description. Feel free to email Epiphone if you are concerned if the guitar is legit. Or something along those lines.
