Thats what everyone thought 2 months ago. There were a bunch of Gibson's getting counterfeighted, and everyone was like, oh well who would counterfeight an Epiphone. Hell I knew that no one would. Well look at this thread. I think I changed my views on this just a little.

Hey you, Epi fake police! Don't whaist your time by raking up ebay and searching for fakes! I know that it's a bad thing to sell those fakes, but on the other hand, it's not worthy spending hours on ebay to find them out! I don't want to start trouble, but It seems like there are some newbies out there, whose are verry affraid now and checking every guitar in a store, if it's a fake! (Know what I mean?)
Don't get me wrong! This thread is verry importaint and useful as well, but don't blow it out of all proportions!

I dont think its a waste when 1) No more people are getting ripped off, and 2). Ebay IS listening and dumping their auctions and 3). I hate T.V., so what the hell? Whats an hour a night amongst friends? I still get guitar time and everyones happy.
The average worker at Gibson probably makes, say, 40.00 and hour. For every P.O.S. guitar sold from China at 400.00, thats one less guitar sold from their factory, and Ebay is sellin at about 3-5 a DAY. I all but guarantee that people have lost jobs due to lost sales, not to mention that some pretty pissed off people are getting a 400.00 flyswatter with no recourse.

Ill leave it up to the folks here to decide... Lost cause? Or not?

Well, it's not! But there are just to many people selling fakes and especially in the last few months, the marked became very huge! To huge to control! And do you think this forum is the right way? Maybe It is! Or at least it's one step in the right direction - blow the whistle on these criminals! So, there's nothing I have to say against the fact, that you guys want to help stop them!

No offense taken. When I stop getting support, then I will quit. If it means only ONE naive kid doesnt get a fake in their hands, we have done our part. If he does anyway, I dont have a lot to say about that. I can just say weve done all we can.

Geez dont friggin stop! I think a lot of people here have been helped already and I cant even count how many Ebay auctions have been taken down because of you and the members here. I know the world wide trade in fake Gibbys and Epi's cant be stopped here but I really think your putting a dent in some of the crook's sales. I can tell you Ive really been educated on fakes in just a couple of weeks. I always look forward to checkin this thread to see who you've busted. Keep it up and Rock on.

Ohh wow, lots of reports, nice job man. Second our cause isn't lost, I know we are helping people just from the pics showing the differences from fakes and real, nd also we have taken down at least 30 guitars if not more! Also thanks for the support younggun and everyone else!

I am not tired of the fake threads, but they were around before I created this thread. Did it install some paranoia into some people, of course. But they are not as ignorant now, and they are starting to pay attention. Because of this we are starting to bring attention to the cause, and making everyone more aware of what they are getting into when they try to buy a guitar now. Unfortunately people do not just have to worry about if the guitar looks good and plays great, now they also have to worry about if it is legit.
