I beg to differ, my friend. Those all are saying NEW from CHina, so I dont think this is the case, and in which case, my facts Are straight. He isnt selling nor trying to sell mid 90's Korean guitars, but thanks anyway.

No prob, bro. I did look at the pics of yours (nice guitars by the way), and your volume knobs actually look almost straight in line with the bridge, but cant really tell from the angle. His are rediculously way off. Funny thing, is both his guitars on ebay are identical the way they are made and the website that yr990099 showed earlier in another post (chinaepiphone.com) they are all like that. AND they said in their about us section that they load up cargo ships full of these things and ship them here. Scary stuff.

I have the same problem.Got a very nice looking les paul limited edition sg couple of weeks ago.Was having really bad time with the tuning of it so my guitar teacher had a look at it.He pointed out the amount of movement the neck has,as in it gives the sound a very wobbly tone when ever the neck is moved,which dosnt take much pressure to do.Just by turning your hand a little after struming a chord screws up the sound.He then said it it more then likely from china.And I brought it from the only gibson/epiphone dealer in my area.You wouldnt think that epiphone would let one of their dealers sell a rubbish version of their products would you.I sure didnt.

This is exactly the reason I make it a point to say something. Once I sent that email to Gibson, that Chinese website suddenly came down. I hope it stays that way. But I think that thief is till getting his crap by on ebay. I did manage to email two of his 5 buyers to tell them what was going on before ebay stopped me. They said I am not allowed to contact fellow ebayers unless I am in a transaction with them, so only 2 of 5 got the emails. But 2 is better than none.

I took mine back to the shop and they tried to fob me off by saying "I'm looking into it to much and that the china made epiphone is just as good as any other in that price range".Granted it may not be top of the line but I would expect some amount of quality for the money I handed over.

Here is my understanding - based on the decals on the guitars:

Epi LP Standards - Made in China
Epi LP Customs - Made in Korea
Epi LP Elites - Made in Japan - though a guy from Gibson told me some work (I do not call specifics) is done in the US after they are shipped from Japan. This is why the TRC will read Gibson though the headstock reads Epi.

customs are coming out of china at the moment I dont think any are currently made in Korea

Was it a "Bolt On" neck? The Epi quality control for "Bolt On's" is not as good as it is for "Set Neck" models.

To my knowledge no Epi's are coming out of Korea @ this time China for most anything that is not and Elite. Even the Ultras are MIC now. I own 2 MIK Epi's & I love them.

my les paul custom has a set neck,wish it was bolted on then it may not cost as much to fix the broken head on it.I think with the ones on ebay its a case of people thinking its to good of a deal to pass up so they take it.I learnt my lesson and am going to buy a cheap guitar to keep my ocupied til I can afford a proper les paul.or maybe take up playing the recorder.
