Question Can MiniBuckers Be installed in a Epiphone Goldtop ?!?!

Can you replace that gross P-90 With a MiniBucker?

It looks to be the same size and i think it will fit in the P-90's cavity ( I'm a noob so I'm talking about the hole they put the pickup in.

Just Curious if i could get a budget les paul deluxe / goldtop

Thanks in Advance, AND ADD PICS IF YOU CAN ?!

Re: Can MiniBuckers Be installed in a Epiphone Goldtop ?!?!

Before you do anything, check the depth of the pup cavities in your Epi gold top, compared to the thickness spec's on whatever mini's you are planing on using as a replacement. The pup cavities in the Gibson LP Deluxe are much deeper than the Epi's.
I switched out the stock Epi P 90's in my ebony Epi reissue, w/ Gibson P-90's and had to gouge out about 1/8" of wood out of the bridge pup cavity to make the Gibson's fit. The Gibson pups were about 1/4" thicker than the epi pups.
Also, there are 2 threaded inserts in the bottom of each of the pup cavities on my Gibson LP Deluxe for the screws that hold in and raise and lower the mini Humbucks. The P-90's just screw directly into the wood of the guitar body in the bottom of the pup cavities.
I would suspect you would a least have to route a bunch of wood out of the Epi bridge pup cavity to make the mini's fit. Then you still have the problem of the mounting and adjustment screws. Good luck!
