Just ordered complete faber bridge & tailpiece kit
Ordered from Tokai Guitars website which sells the Faber stuff. I originally was gonna order from CV Guitars, but after going to that website it actually recommended to direct me to the Tokai/Faber website in Germany and order there as the postage etc would be cheaper as I live in the U.K.
Okay so heres what i've just ordered: 1 x BSWKIT-NA, Bridge Adapter, Nickel plated aged. 1 x ABRM - 59NA, Nickel plated, nickel plated saddles - Aged. 1 x TP-59NA, Vintage Spec ALU stop Tailpiece, nickel aged. 1 x TL-MNA, Metric thread, nickel aged. (Tailpiece posts) Cost me 115 GBP all in. Maby i'm mad spending such a huge sum for this upgrade for my 14 year old Epi, but i just fell in love with the look of this kit after seeing it installed on an Epi within these threads. It has been purchased by a few other as well it appears. This will give me a very vintage correct look with the aged nickel and the ABR-1 bridge with the 4mm posts, looking just like the Gibsons, cause i got the BSWKIT conversion kit (M8 - 4mm), direct drop in original body studs, no drilling, no messing around, no worrys. Cant wait. Will send photos once delivered and installed.

There is nothing wrong with upgrading a guitar you like; I have a telecaster copy that I paid more for the electronics and pickups than the guitar itself...

Re: Just ordered complete faber bridge & tailpiece kit
Just an update, received my Faber aged Nickel ABR bridge with conversion posts (BSWKIT) vintage correct aluminium tailpiece with tonelock kit, which basically is an extra set of different sized sleeves that fit under the stopbar and enable it to be locked down without strings attached.
Its taken a while to post these pictures as the guy at Tokai guitars in Germany accidently sent me the inch thread tone lock posts for the stopbar, so I had to wait for the correct metric ones to arrive. But all good now and just fitted this lot today. So simple, no mods needed at all! just screwed straight in the original bushings. I havent strung her up yet, because I am now waiting on a set of replacement Kluson Deluxe cream tuners to get rid of the ugly green tulips. Also gonna pay a visit to a luthier to fit the Graph Tech Tusq nut that I got a while back, still not fitted. So with all these mods I not only have a much more vintage and pleasing looking Epi Standard but also I can visually see the extreme difference in quality of this parts compared to the stock Epi chrome parts, so hoping for a difference in tone, and hopefully it wont keep dropping out of tune everytime I put it in the case. I cant praise this Faber stuff enough, its just the best upgrade I could have made apart from the electrics which I gotta get round to doing. The look just gives my Epi so much more character with the aged Nickel, I much prefer this look over the new glossy nickel look, but each to there own. Take a look: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Please let me know what you all think. ![]()

I think I need something like that for my R8.
![]() Don't feel crazy. I put a lot more than that into my Epi.

Re: Just ordered complete faber bridge & tailpiece kit
Looks good. Faber parts are top-notch. I recently fitted an ABR bridge kit and locking tailpiece to my Traditional. Couldn't be happier with the upgrade. Here's a couple of pics of mine (sorry I know this is the Epiphone forum but couldn't resist
)![]() ![]() One thing I really like about the locking tailpiece is that I can top-wrap without it tilting forwards and reducing the contact area against the posts. |

Looks fantastic, I really love the aged look. Are you planning to AGE the pickup covers? They appear to be chrome.
Looks great... |

Re: Just ordered complete faber bridge & tailpiece kit
I have a "heavy relic'd" Faber kit(brass saddles, steel posts, Alu TP) installed on my MIJ Epi LP. I was less than impressed. Couldn't detect any tonal benefits whatsoever. Still looks nice tho...

Re: Just ordered complete faber bridge & tailpiece kit
I'm not expecting any tonal benefits. I'm just expecting a bridge that works. The one on my R8 does not.

The first set are the TonePros with the butterscotch coloured pegs and have the double line 'Kluson Deluxe' stamp. They are the TPK33 Series Tuners , or there is a more vintage correct aged nickel set with cream tulip buttons from Fake58. They dont provide a very good picture of them on their site, but these are probabely going to be the ones I will go for, I am still waiting for an email back about their true colour, I dont want the green tinted pegs! It is my recent understanding though that the tonepros will require some modding as although they are the correct drop in replacements for my existing kluson tuners on my 96 Epi, they have a thicker sleeve at the base of the posts for added stability, which I read someone on these threads had to do some drilling of the holes slightly to fit. I just want a simple drop in replacement, I dont want to do any drilling etc on my Epi. Too risky for me. |

Re: Just ordered complete faber bridge & tailpiece kit
The installation pics show that the tap is used to allow the bridge posts to be installed. How did this kit fit into the Epi? Did they screw right into the existing bushings? Can you post pics with the bridge removed, but posts in place? Thanks.
