I think it sounds great. But don't you guys think the amp has just a teensie bit to do with that?

Re: Is it just me, or does this sound tasty?
^Agreed. Thank the amp. Chances are your own Epi Les Paul would sound that good through a similar amp.

most epi players don't have the experience to know that gain just adds mud beyond a certain point.

Re: Is it just me, or does this sound tasty?
I've been playing for 30 years. Been in a few garage bands and know what good tone is and have fun doing it. The reason i play an Epi BB3 is because for what i do and for a hobby, i don't need or want to spend 3 or 4 times as much money for a name on the head stock. With the right equipment i can get the sound i want and don't have to prove to anyone anything. Tone comes from a lot more than just the guitar that is plugged into an amp.

Neat axe. Pretty. I like the way he hits a chord & then moves his hand outta the way so we can see the whole guitar. Cool demo...

Re: Is it just me, or does this sound tasty?
I was gonna say just that. I do have to admit though, the neck pup sounds a bit better than most of epi's stock neck pups do. It has more clarity and less muddiness.

A '54 with humbuckers? Did somebody at Epiphone think they had time machines in '54 with which they could travel to '57?

Re: Is it just me, or does this sound tasty?
And it might well be. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate a good pickup. But I EQ my amp to the neck in the first place. From what I've read here, most seem to EQ to the bridge and the neck just gets a wing and a prayer.

Re: Is it just me, or does this sound tasty?
Same here. EQ to the neck and adjust from there otherwise.

Re: Is it just me, or does this sound tasty?
A lot of people refer to Beck's as "The Oxblood Les Paul" and I'm pretty sure he doesn't have that trademarked, so I think that something based on that would work. Something like "Oxblood Tribute".
