Anybody dealt w/ ebay user gibsonjunky?

Looking at one of his auctions and he will not send additional pictures. Everything looks kosher though...

Thanks for the help in advance!

If he's not cooperative, pass it by.

Everything looks good, 425 transactions and 100% positive feedback. Many people don't like sending additional photos on eBay as it is a pain. But still air on the side of caution when buying any guitar on eBay.

None of his auctions are recent enough to be able to see them.

I always say that if a person can't cooperate simple things you can always pass it up. He is probably legit but you aren't asking for anything out of the ordinary.

If you are dead set on getting it then ask him if he would accept pickup just to see what he would say. If it is fake or a scam he would say no.

He has a fair amount of pictures with the listing. What do you need to see that isn't there? It's a '95 Standard, not a '55.

It looks good to me.

Re: Anybody dealt w/ ebay user gibsonjunky?

I've been looking for a standard tobacco or desertburst w/ 50's neck for a while...believe it or not they have been a lot harder to come by than one would think.

That said, $1600 is a bit high [the guy is firm on his price] and I don't think its asking too much to see a couple of high-res pictures. The guitar is 15 years old and I'd love to get a better idea of the extent of the scratches.

I really appreciate everyones opinion here, the more the merrier. I'm leaning towards not getting it for the time being and waiting it out for another one to come along....

Pass.

I'd send you 100 pics if I was trying to get $1600.

Plus no recent high $$$ completed auctions to see.
