So let me get this right, the guy is willing to pay more for a guitar than he would and epiphone even though it doesn't sound as good. All because it frauduantly says gibson on the headstock.

Do people who buy these realize that the only people that these will fool are people who don't know anything about or care anything about a LP?

Why not just buy an epi?

What if he bought it to display on the wall of his nightclub or something similar?
Where hanging a real 2000 dollar + instrument would not be the smartest idea. In those instances the replica market seems to have a place. And, in my experience, you have to change the electronics and the setup of an Epiphone, to achieve the "Les Paul" sound too.

It is still illegal.

Why not just buy a les paul style guitar and put on the wall, why does a nightclub owner have to get one that says Les Paul on it?

You get a better sound from the epis than the pressed plywood chinese fakes and you aren't supplying money into a crooked and ****ed up operation.

Great argument though.
