No, the guy communicating with me on ebay was pretending to be the guy who sent the money. If you re-read the thread, it will make sense. The guy who sent the money was workgin for the group on ebay; he did not know they were on ebay. He thought he was handling an account for interior design contract fees. And his employer (overseas) was actually using the account and his name to dupe unsuspecting individuals into buying things on ebay & who knows where else & sendin money to the account that the real guy managed. Then he was sending the $ over seas to where his boss told him to send it. There was a guy in Japan who won an auction a couple of days after me from the same seller. Cost him $9500. The real guy may be able to save his money today after talking to me.

No, he only has $105 still going in auctions. It is ME who has the $22600 in my auctions, not him, assuming that is what you meant.

Then he gets an offer from a "business man" to set up a Bank Account and Forward money to Russia! Total Bullshit. The guy is in on it all the way. get the law on his ass and You'll get anwsers to your questions in a hurry. And more importantly your money back.

I wish there was something that us MLP brethren could do. $15K is a lot of change, I don't care who you are. Jimmy seems a lot more calm than I would be but then again, $15K to Jimmy might be like $1500 to me.

That feedback is from 2002. It doesn't count towards the seller's current percentage as eBay recently decided to only count seller's feedback from the last 12 month period. I'm also pretty sure that this account was hijacked earlier this year.

The guy in question does not own the ebay account. That was someone else in the "organization". If the account was hijacked, they hijacked someone else. He got the job off of Career Builders Dot Com. They advertised something to start your own business. He applied, and they got him set up, thinking he was processing fees for interior design consulting. It was not supposed to have anything to do with ebay. But they went behind his back & used his name. The seller of the guitar identified himself as this guy. But it wasn't him. I talked to the seller one time on the phone last week; he was a foreigner. This guy is a southern American.

He did get paid a hefty 7% commission for processing the money to Russia. He starts a new job in insurance of all things soon; says he wants to pay me back the part of my $ that went to him. It was his idea, not mine. I'll bet the law enforcement official he talked to told him he could be liable. But at the same time, the bigger fish is the one they can't touch - the international ones. They are the ones who took most of the money and used his name without his knowledge.

The more i think about it. The guy with the Ebay account is part of the Scam. He knows after the deal is started with the wire transfer He will Keep the Money. Knowing that its extremely diffucult and Costly for anyone to do anything about it. Esp if he is Desperate and Needs Money for whatever reason. Desperate people do Desperate things.

I think I am calm because I started getting a bad feeling a week ago & it has had that much time to chew on me. And now my worst fear is finally happening. I keep telling myself that I have a job, good health, family, friends, etc.; I am very blessed in spite of all this. You know, one day we will all die & you can't take it with you, even though you might be buried with it! So hey, why get way bent out of shape? I can't do a whole lot about it anyway. Maybe I should try takig up donations & see who would pitch in a little here & there to help me out? I have a huge hole to fill.

The guy with the ebay account is in with the guy who hired the guy with the real name. I never said the ebay guy was innocent. The ebay guy could even be the same guy who hired this other fellow who got his id stolen. I have that guy's phone number and email address now. I plan to turn it over to law enforcement when I file a case tomorrow. But this other fellow who had his id stolen has been cooprerating with me & providing me with info on the real crooks. But you guys may be right. He may be cooperating, but he may be in this more than he is letting on.

Thanks marc1kim. That is exactly what happened here. It does say the middle man could be at the highest risk of being arrested. I wonder if that means he can repay me? This guy already used his commission to pay his over due bills. So I don't think he has much. But maybe his wife works!

It isn't his account. They are identifying themselves in email communications using his name, but it is not him. Read the article that was posted above:

It will explain that the guy I have been talkign to today, the cooperative guy, is the middle man. They call him a mule in these scams.

I really think so..If what he says is true Ebay would've shut down the account during the 2 weeks of your transaction. Since this guy owns the account and everything is Legit as far as Ebay is concerned (except the Bad Deal ofcourse)...Ebay won't shut it down.
