Unknown Flying V Model

Hi everyone,

I am the highest bidder for this 2005 Gibson Flying V:

Gibson Flying V, Mahogany, with TKL case- Excellent Condition *NR* | eBay

I thought it was a unique looking V, and I like the idea of a satin neck, so I'll be happy if I win. However, I have never seen a dark natural finish mahogany V with a black pick guard. I can't find a single picture of a V that looks like this one.

Does anyone know anything at all about this model? Is it just a limited run of a standard ~$1000 brand new V?

I've seen the lighter colored high gloss mahogany v98 model, but not this one. Any info would be much appreciated!

Re: Unknown Flying V Model

Is there any chance that the body is rosewood? It just seems so dark to be a "natural" finish.

Re: Unknown Flying V Model

It's a 2005 Faded in worn brown & evidently someone changed the stock white pickguard to a black one. Especially with a hard case, the present bid amount isn't bad - US $430.99.
It's not a rosewood body, for sure.
landonblevins1995 and tmarmar like this.
