Take a look at his stuff:
sethisleft | eBay

low number of transactions, everything is 9 days out, no reserve ... alarm bells?

Re: Know this seller?

I wouldn't.......he's only sold 5 things on there ever, and one of them was in '04?!

Feels pretty suspicious that all of his recent transactions are for relatively higher end guitars.

Re: Know this seller?

He does respond to emails and says he's the original owner of the R57 reissue. Correspondence seems straight forward. He has some nice stuff for sale.

Re: Know this seller?

Times are hard...people gotta liquidate.

Offers returns. You should be protected.

Ask him something specific about a guitar, and see if he knows his items very well.

Good Luck!!

Re: Know this seller?

I undertsnad your suspicion but not everyone uses eBay often. Its sad these days how if you do not have a high sell count on eBay it raises a million red flags. As a seller on eBay I don't sell much but have 100% feedback and still get bent over and F*ckd by them cause eBay is a buyers market and they couldn't care less about sellers. If your new to eBay its rough they hold your money and force you to ship and pay out of your own pocket.

I agree. I'm a bit of a collector and have started to sell a few of my guitars. I sell a lot on ebay with my company but not so much personally, so I don't have a lot of feedback. Most of my guitars are in new, unplayed condition but who believes that without the cred. So my strategy is to sell a couple at a time to build up feedback and cred. It surprises me that the seller would put so many up at once. In essence he's competing against himself, especially with the similar acoustics.

It would be interesting to see if he'll give the S/N for the R7 so it could be verified with Gibson customer service. I do that with all my guitars so I have some written documentation of specs and authenticity of the S/N. If he won't give it out, it's probably a scam. Also, my collection spans from 1957-2008. It seems odd all of his are only a year or two old. I'd have a real hard time buying that many guitars over such a short timeframe. And then to turn around and sell them all at once? Seems fishy.
