I hope this seller isn't a member here. This is allegedly "new", though you can see it's clearly a late 2010 build so it's over a year old and "unplayed". A starting bid almost $200 ABOVE retail and a BIT $300 ABOVE retail?

That guitar has been relisted at least a half-dozen times, varying the price from $1397 with BIN of $1597 to occasional listings of simply starting the bid at $1497. If you aren't paying to be on the boat, there's no harm in leaving a line in the water, I guess.

But why would you have an "inside source" at Gibson "hand select" a guitar for you if you're not going to play it? It's not like mass produced LP Studios are ever going to become collector's pieces. Boy's an eggroll short of a combination platter if you ask me.

I get that. My point is this. It's an $850 Studio Tribute with pin striping. To think a little tape/paint makes it worth twice the retail price is just ignorance imho.
