Tonepros ABR Bridge Saddle Notching

Hey guys, I just ordered an aged Tonepros ABR bridge for my R8. The saddles aren't notched. Whats the best way to do this?

Re: Tonepros ABR Bridge Saddle Notching

if you want it done correctly. You'll need at least 3 gauge files ( expensive ).
Cheaper to have it done by a respected Luthier

Re: Tonepros ABR Bridge Saddle Notching

I notch ABR's the old shool way.
After getting the strings lined up like I want,I will the put both thumbs on either side of the saddle and push the string into the saddle.Use a rocking back and forth motion and this should yeild a very shallow notch that is the exact size of said string. You can even take it a step further if needed and lightly tap, with a mallet or small hammer, the string.I fold a piece of tin foil into a few layers and mold it to the saddle showing exactly where the string is before tapping them. Not much force is needed.Even a screw driver handle would work well.Just remember not to use too much force as bending the saddle srew can happen.
