Question fitting humbucker cover. how to?

hi, i'm planning on fitting a humbucker cover onto the neck p/up of my les paul classic. i'm reasonably handy with the soldering iron. any tips or advice as to how to go about this?

Location: In the pit rubbing the lotion on it's skin. It doesn't like the hose.

Just a little patience, it takes a bit of heat to get the baseplate and the cover heated up. I use a 40watt iron minimum. Not much to it, otherwise.

so just slip the cover on the p/up and solder a small seam either side? i assume. anything to watch out for so that damage doesn't occur? thanks for your help.

You might have to tear a bit of tape away from the edge of the baseplate. Just be careful when slipping the cover on, other than that, I think you've got it covered!

What pickups do you have, and where are you getting covers?

the stock p/ups in the les paul classic which are the 500t and whatever the neck one is. i'm using the cover from my epi les paul standard that i removed.

Outta work, just make sure the holes line up, should be good. Only other thing I'd say is those Epi covers are a little on the thick side, they will need some heat, but it'll work fine. Good luck, post pics of the results!!
