wobbly strat trem arms?
do more expensive strats suffer such a wobbly arm as the budget strat copies i have? i'm talking of the screw in arms. the problem is the little bit of wobble there is just before the bridge actually moves.

Re: wobbly strat trem arms?
try wrapping the threads in teflon tape, or try a trem arm from a good guitar, as the threads may have been made a bit more precisely

Re: wobbly strat trem arms?
Wow, somebody that puts the arm in their strat trem. The problem you have is just a fact of life with a strat trem. On most of them the block is made of cheap cast medal and will loosen up quick if you use it. The arm is of a much harder material than the block and it tears them up. Some come with a little spring in the trem hole to stabilize the arm, it's not much help other tan controling arm swing. I will suggest something so take it or not. Look at the back of you trem block if there is a hole on the back then this might work for you. I did it with my strat copy many years ago before I gave up on strat trems. I broke off a piece of toothpick and stuck it in there from the bottom. Screwed in the arm a nice tight fit. Afterwards I just use another toothpick from the back and pushed it out. Needless to say I had a ton toothpicks in my case. Just a thought, I would be wary to try without the hole in the back as you my find it difficult to remove the TP. To be honest I drilled the hole in mine. Good luck.
