anyone setup to cnc LP bodies?

I have a couple of pieces of Koa wood I bought when I lived in hawaii years back, and I've been planning on cutting them into a LP body, is anyone setup to cut the bodies out. I can do it by hand of course, I have access to a Mill but CNC would be a lot faster and more precise. maybe a ballpark estimate on cost and requirements too?

well what do you think it would take to rough cut a body from about a 1 7/8" thick piece of koa, I realize it is fractionally thinner but its what I could get.

I have plans for doing a Koa with a bookmatched flamed Korina top for myself. You could put a top on your Koa, OR, do a thin, but still carved body.

Contact me at ristguitars@yahoo.com and we can go over it

Re: anyone setup to cnc LP bodies?

yeah I would prefer thin and carved, just loose some of the back depth. wanna use mine as a practice piece? haha. I'd be willing to trade services, I build street rods/hot rods/ custom cars all day long and have been way to busy to fuck with building any more guitars after I built my les paul custom a few years back. I also don't want to jig my wood up in our greasy Bridgeport and saturate it with 50 gallons of atf. you need anything made of metal? I could also pay of course, just trying to do this on a budget. what about cutting the neck also? I have some birdseye maple that would be good.
