time to think...question about pickupz...take a look not a typical question
I want to put a:
Lollar Charlie Christian Archtop Pickup (38-gauge wire, large coil like the originals. Big round tone retaining clear top end. Uses modern Alnico 5 magnets.) in the neck position and a p90 in the bridge in a korina bodied guitar (like a 58 flying V) is this a good idea.....your thoughts...etc also what would happen if I threw in a cool rails in the mid position like a PRS swamp ash special.... help...thanks |

How about just asking Lollar directly? It's
doubtful that many players know what this... ![]() ...sounds like. |

I thought he only used it live...
I don't really think much about his tone, he was really a songwriter. like the quote on the gibson site, 'I'm just a rythmer, you know' He got some nice sounds out of those rickenbackers, though. |

Worth a shot.....probably an original sounding combo....I haven't heard the Charlie Christian Archtop Pickup...but it'd probably be interesting at least.....
