My 76 Custom

Hello, this is my first post - I thought I'd share some pics and information on my first LP.
My backstory: I acquired my first LP 20 years ago, a 76 black beauty custom that had experienced a hard life. I dreamed of having a left handed Les Paul, but money was a limiting factor at 16 years of age. So, I dreamed up a radical idea - What if I were to 1. remove the neck from the body 2. fill all the cavities in the guitar 3. run the guitar body through a planer* 4. pancake wood onto the back of the guitar and hand sand for a year, 5. route new neck, pickups, pots, and switch cavities 6. be a proud owner of a left handed LP. Long story short, I wasn't able to finish without a professional luthier - and my only two regrets are the Khaler and the thin binding. The OEM custom binding was going to break my budget!
*(my Luthier ended up using body from a Les Paul Junior in place of the original body.)
I'll post a link to higher res pictureshttp://www.installerassist.com/archive/76_lp/high

I love it!

Those necks with a gradient are always beautiful.
