How to glue velcro to pedal board?

Ok, i started my pedal board project, I got a whole bunch of velcro, but i don't know how to glue em. i was wondering if you guys could help me out. i would really appreciate it if you could. i will also post pics when im done.

anyways, i was thinking maybe contact cement or maybe liquid nails. i tried superglue, but there isn't enough air circulation between the velcro and the plastic suitcase for it to dry overnight. i tried hot glue, and it ripped right off.

please help me

they sell velcro with self stick backing at craft stores. i used it to keep the hoola girl in my car in place.

yeah, i already got velcro. the hook side had sticky side that stuck very well, but the loop side didn't.

Try contact cement.

Why would the hook side have adhesive and the eyelet side not? That's weird.

wahs all seem to be very different. try looking at the crybabys with red fassels and vox ones. those are good places to start.

i'm 13, so i like metal. i use the weeping demon wah, and i would recommend it to anyone of any style of playing. it is the most versatile pedal i've ever seen. if you're planning to look for it, keep in mind that it does make a bit of noise, so you may want an isp decimator or a noise gate or something.

i like steve vai, and he uses a morley bad horsie wah. im not sure if its the first or second one, but either way, he's a tone beast with some gorgeous jems.

no, the hook side had a sticky side that stuck very well. the loop side didn't have any sticky parts on it. that's why im asking what you guys might use. i've heard of using shoe goo, but im questioning the reliablity of it.

anyone? i couldn't go to walmart or home depot last weekend because i had to go to a party on friday and then go to a concert on saturday. and on sunday, i was too tired (and hungover lol) to ask my parents to take me anywhere. any further input would be appreciated.

I've used the "Industrial Strength" velcro (find it at Home Depot or Lowes) which has a stronger adhesive (and, it's on both pieces). And then, if it's on wood, staple it down, too, for good measure. It ain't goin' anywhere...

13 and hungover? You have more serious issues than velcro.

anyhoo.. get different velcro with adheasive on it.. and do as other stated with the staple gun if you have one.

aww i only drink every couple of months. everyone does. anyways, the suitcase is thin plastic, but not thin enough to break. i can't really afford to get more velcro as the stuff i got as it is was $19 for a small suitcase. i used a coupon thing so i only had to pay $9.

also, i was thinking about using a soldering iron to melt the sides of the velcro down after i've glued it to give it a more uniform look. anyone think its a good idea?

Not to harp on it but +1.

In my opinion you shouldn't. I think it will just end up looking trashy because you probably won't be able to melt it uniformly. I would either save up and get the better velcro or staple it down and put enough glue on to keep it flush with the surface.

i will after im done. i tried gluing the velcro down with hot glue and then i soldered it down. but i had to rip it all off because the glue wasn't good. once i go get some contact cement or some other type of glue, i'll deff post pics. promise

If you intend to use a hot iron on the velcro, be sure any glue you use is not flammable. You may need to buy more velcro....and a new case.

Just be sure to use an actual staple gun, not a stapler for paper.

OK-don't trust Shoo-Goo? Then go to the grandaddy of contact. 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive-classic yellow goo;sold at most generic auto parts stores.O'L(Ps--!!!!!13 is a bit too young to use eth. I sneaked a few beers starting about 17-never enough to get drunk and when I was little DAd and I had to listen tho the Indy 500 sitting in the car-he would share little sips. i took 3 pictures, one of the velcro, one of the suitcase standing up, and one of the suitcase open, but everytime i try to upload them, firefox crashes. i'll get on my parents laptop and upload them.
