New Tail piece studs, is it worth changing the bushings?

I am having my guitar tech install a pigtail tailpeice on an my R7. He was not wild about changing the stud casings and thought the Pigtail studs would screw into the originals just fine. I think the Pigtail casings will fit better with the Pigtail studs but, I assume it is a bigger job to take out the bushings and may pose more risk to the wood. Any opinions about this? Thanks

I've never bothered to change the bushings, the Gibson ones are steel too.

However, I have seen others claim the Pigtails are better bushings.

Not a big job to change them, you have to be careful not to pull the finish, score carefully around the old ones.

But, as I said, I left the Gibsons in mine.

Thanks. I would imagine the Pigtails are better quality but I am not convinced they would be a significant difference in tone so leaning toward using the originals.

I don't bother changing the bushings,I just install the real deal and that's it.

Don't bother, you might get .0000132 of a percent tonal improvement.

And if you do change them, any improvement will be only perceived.

In other words, you will bullshit yourself!
