sound of pre-ban ivory vrs tusq
has any one noticed a difference...I was planing on buying the tusq but I would love to hear thoughts about the matter.... also has any one tried the mammoth bone? Guitar Parts - Ivoryseller.com - Instrument Ivory, Inlay Ivory, Ivory Gun Grips, Pre-Ban Elephant Tusks

I think the sound diff in reality is prob minimal, but pre-ban elephant ivory is I think the high end standard for the ivory nuts. I wouldn't go for the mammoth, based on how they describe that they are trying to get the sound of the mammoth bone to be close to that of the elephant. Good luck
