A friend of mine did it for me. He used Buillion Gold paint from ReRanch (same color of Ford and Plymouth in 50's and 60's); Sherin Willians's nitro base; Akzo Nobel's yellow and alpine white base; and nitro StewMac.

Cheers

Hi Marlboro - I'm wondering about the process of how you applied the bronze powder. Did you mix it with clear nitro and then spray it?

EDIT - Must've missed your response above...

Hi, Moff40. A friend of mine refinished the top for me. He said he mixed with the gold paint.

Look it's already got EMGs just add a black bullseye,
that would be totally sick!

I am currious to know why your friend first put gold and then after white? Why not white from the beginning?

I've read the thread but still don't understand the reason to first put gold, then white, and afterwards gold over the white. Would the first coat of gold make any difference?

I am with you on this. I read the post first time around and was perplexed as well. The only thing I can muster is the first gold coat was designed as a filler/sealer. The success of the final coat is directly connected to the smoothness of the base. There were knots on the original top.

The white would then serve to the final "pop". I don't think the base gold color would inhance the top coat color at all.

If I am not understanding this properly I would love to be corrected.
