TonePros Tune-o-Matic Bridge

Hey guys,

I'm thinking about installing one of these into my Epi LP. Yah its a little pricey, but the reviews seem very positive. Anyone here use one? I also have some odd noises coming from the stock one I have in my Epi right now...very strange whistling/rattling/buzzing sounds...I can't find any other possible place it could be coming from.

The one thing I'm wondering though is that there doesn't look like there are string grooves in the little saddles:

What's the deal with that? Also, are there any other upgrade bridges that aren't as costly? Thanks!

The Tone Pros products are great, I use their bridges and tail pieces on both of my Les Pauls. I think you can get the bridges with or without the string grooves. Some people like to make their own string spacing and file it themselves. Just keep in mind that if you get the one with the grooves, you still need to file them a bit to fit your strings properly.

Hey thanks WildeStarr...I totally forgot about this thread.

Anyway, I just purchased the TonePros Metric set in nickel from Ebay, comes with both the bridge and tailpiece. After stripping all the poly off my Epi, there's quite a difference in tone, even using the stock Epi hardware...sounds great, real woody for once, not plastic. I'm hoping this TonePros set will improve it even more.

I had the same problem with my G-400, the Tone Pros seemed to take care of it. Stripping the poly off does help a lot with the tone, don't it!

Cool, thanks man! And yah...stripping the poly did wonders in my opinion...not sure if it was worth the 4 MONTHS it took me to get it off though.

Wow, gorgeous man! So you stripped it down to the barewood before applying the white?

Re: TonePros Tune-o-Matic Bridge

Yeah, it was a bear on this one, too. I did a cherry red with Linseed oil finish at first, but it looked like ass after about six months, so I stripped it again and sprayed the white. I always wanted a white Custom, this is probably as close as I'll get. She's actually got EMG's now, but I put some chrome covers and fake polepieces on them for looks.

Nice! I'm down to the barewood as of now. Staining, painting, and refinishing it is gonna be a load of work...
