How do I put a Floyd Rose on my LP?

Hi I recently bought this Floyd Rose: FLOYD ROSE Tremolo /Double Lock /Zwart - Main Music

How to put it on my les paul? I'd really like to know what I'm doing before I smash my guitar to pieces...

Oh dear...
If you're asking how to do it, you're probably not ready to do that and screw something. Do you have any axperience in woodworking? You're going to need some tools, also. Not to mention (maybe partial) refinish.

Yes- I was going to start by suggesting a fifth of tequila-drink most of it-when you wake up maybe you will have come to your senses. Otherwise, you had better be a pro with a router and have a drillpress. If it is a beater clone, then just dive on in.Ole'Lefty

ok. here goes.

Step 1: remove Les PAul from case.
Step 2: Take a good look at Les Paul.
Step 3: Put Les Paul back in case.
Step 4: Get upset with self for even thinking about floyding a LP.
Step 5: Go to local music store.
Step 5: Purchase Floyd equipped Ibanez, Jackson, Kramer, etc.

Thats it! Floyding a Les Paul in 5 easy steps!

The fact that you're asking means you don't know what you've gotten into by buying that first. I'd say the only way to get it on is to take it to a good tech...it will be expensive.

It's a lot of work, but one guy did this to his Epiphone, and it turned out great! I couldn't find the post, but do a search and you'll probably see it; it's a lot of work, though!

Hey- I was actually subtle! It is your guitar-everybody says, 'I'll Never sell it." Then you need to sell it or you die and now people can see what you did to your guitar. Buy an Edwards or Agile or Tokai,(all new) [or one of my bolt-ons]<>and do it to that. If the FR vibrato is essential to your style then we understand. But it is the functional equivalent of an open chest heart surgery -might kill the guitar and the big scar is forever.If your style requires Whammy vibe then get a Strat(I have a very nice Strat Partscaster-vintage trem which I lock down because I don't use one-not knocking Strats)Ole'Lefty

LP's shouldn't have FR....

If you want get a Agile with a Licensed FR..that's a Les Paul style guitar..

It can be done,but as been told,its like freaking open heart surgery for your guitar.

that being said,If its what you want/need then take it to a good luthier or tech(one that already has the proper routing templates)and prepare to toss some fairly large $$$ into getting it done.
If,however,you are a do-it-yourselfer,then start buying some luthiery books,some stew-mac FR router templates,and do a google search on floyd rose installations...there are many blogs,and a few videos that show how its done.
as for whether it should be done....pay no attention to the naysayers

(for the record,my 63 Gibson Explorer had an OFR,as did an LP custom I once had,and,I am going to install 2 this year,one in another LP custom,and one in another Explorer...and before you purists freak out,no,neither are Gibsons!))

the only alt i can give you is to one, SELL THE FR, and then purchase a KAHLER trem.

all ya gotta do is drilla sqare hole between yer tail and bridge, and thats pretty much it, just get locking tuners or a behind the nut lock.....

If this is a metal/shredding guitar, use the floyd. If it's subtle jazzy vibrato stuff, go with the kahler. The kahler doesn't stay in tune as well, but hey, its jazz!
