Zakk's famous bullseye Les Paul was 1st done by MAX.

well ill aslo tell u 1 thing aswell.
zakks guitar bullseye was actually a mistake
he wanted a swirl but who ever painted it (max) did it wrong but he liked it anyway so he kept it.

Funny, I heard when he started playing for Ozzy he had a white Les Paul that looked like Randy Rhoads guitar, so he had a black bulls eye put on it to look different.

Cool fact, I didnt know Max painted it. Max is a way cool guy and definitely knows his way around a Les Paul.

ZAKK WYLDE'S MISSING GUITAR IS BACK; "THE GRAIL" HAS BEEN RETURNED
In the year 2000, Zakk Wyldes famous Bullseye Les Paul was lost. Traveling from Dallas to Houston, the band (Black Label Society) was pulled over due to the trucks back doors being open. Upon investigating the trucks contents, two guitars were found missing. One was a replica that was recovered on July 4th be an observant woman traveling behind the truck. A reward was posted for the beloved "Grail" to no avail.
As of today - "The Grail" has returned home. A medical technician from Dallas area made the move. Jerry Weisenger emailed long time friend and Attorney Randy Canis (original webmaster for Zakk) and told him of "The Grail's" travels. Apparently the guitar made it to a pawn shop in Dallas. It was purchased just to be, once again, sold back to another pawn shop. Jerry Weisenger's friend, who pawned the guitar, was not able to pay the price to retrieve it, so Jerry helped out and paid for it. The friend never came by with the money so Jerry decided to keep it. The guitar was stored for 7 months before he pulled it out to clean it. He pulled the pick-ups out and saw ZW engraved into the backs of them. He knew, what he had always suspected, that this is Zakk Wylde's guitar.

Too bad MAx hadnt put a patent or copywrite on the paint job The shoe then might be on the other foot as it were

Charvel was using that same graphic about 8 years before Zakk got it on his Les Paul. I had an original 1981 pre pro Charvel with a bullseye on it, cool guitar, I miss it.

On a side note, I played one of the new ZW sigs the other day... Hated it. Haha

I played one a few years ago and thought it was great, not something I'd ever own, but I love the tall wide frets and the shaved neck. The one I played last week just didn't work for me... Probably was the telephone cord strings on it.

Oh and correct me if I'm wrong, but the original ZW Bullseye was an 80 Custom right? Yet the Sig's have no volute... Thank God they at least put a maple neck on it.
