pre-slotted TUSQ nuts in Epi/asian LP?

Hey, all! I dunno if maybe it's better to have this here than in the Epi forum.

I was wondering, for those of you who ordered the pre-slotted TUSQ nuts for your Epis (they have a specific Epi model) or maybe your Agile LP or similar asian copy, was it a pretty close 'drop-in' or required MUCH work/adjustment?

Did you like the string spacing and distance from edge?

I am NOT looking for an answer "you shouldn't expect an exact drop-in", I am looking to hear what your actual experience was.

If you didn't try, might as well wait it out and let the folks comment first. No offense, nothing personal!

Thank you!

TUSQ was designed specifically for acoustic guitars. I wouldn't use it for an electric (and the company will tell you the same). Probably why you haven't gotten a response.

Re: pre-slotted TUSQ nuts in Epi/asian LP?

it's nice to get responses after I placed the order

that's ok. i also ordered the black trem-nut just in case.

graphtech specifically lists les pauls as "compatible" models in their TUSQ section. I don't know that any nut material is specifically acoustic - they have the same job (except the slippiness, of course, that's more in electric realm, but well-polished TUSQ "seems to should work"

Re: pre-slotted TUSQ nuts in Epi/asian LP?

received my order (got both trem-nut and tusq of same model). they both have identical dimensions to stock nut.

however, the string slots have different spacing - a bit further from edge (could be good!) and a bit closer to each other - might be just fine.

i don't think they'll accomodate 11's gauge w/o filing, but might do fine with lighter gauges. Will have to try.

I decided that trem-nut will look ok on mine and will just keep the other one (just in case).
