LP - Les Paul
Gibby - Gibson
Lester - Les Paul
SG - I believe this stands for solid guitar
NOS - New old stock - usually referring to tubes made in the golden age of tube electroniucs that are still in unused condition - I wish I could afford some

Nitpick:
A Piezo pickup (short for piezoelectric) is part of an active circuit (meaning it requires an additional voltage source), as opposed to "regular" pickups (magnetic induction) which are totally passive.

It reproduces more acoustic sounding tones because it works by converting differences in pressure (the vibration of the instrument and air under the strings) to create its signal rather than the attraction between magnets and the strings.

EDIT: might as well throw in these too:

Active circuit: a part of a guitar's electronics which requires an external voltage to operate (e.g. active mid-boost circuits in Clapton strats)

Passive circuit: a part of a guitar's electronics which is powered solely by the vibration of the strings, (e.g. normal magnetic pickups)

NOS - there have been a couple of definitions thrown around for this one so far...I've always understood it to mean New Old Stock...something in brand new condition, usually still in its original packaging, that may have been hanging around a store, showroom or warehouse for years. The term can apply to guitars, tubes, car parts, whatever.

No questions are stupid on this thread, where here to help =P

Now, from my understanding, its basically meaning (correct me if i'm wrong someone) that the person is agreeing or seconding that post...

you'll commonly see it after a quote from another member.

so in a nutshell:

+1 Agree
-1 Disagree

Now this would be up to you, Kiwirocker, but wouldn't it make a lot of sense to edit all of the contributions into your OP -oh, BTW, "OP"means original post (and BTW=by the way), so someone looking for a term wouldn't have to scroll through the entire thread?
Just a suggestion.
