Re: Set neck strat

Isn't the most recent Blackmore signature a set neck?

Re: Set neck strat

Think of it this way. Anything can be done. How much it will cost can get pretty expensive. Try going to fender and asking for a coustom neck as hard as that can be. Or there is always some one out there! Good luck!

Ok, what i meant was if it was possible to go get a strat body and neck, and just glue it together, assuming that they didnt route the screwholes yet.

Re: Set neck strat

I don't think it would be strong enough with just a butt joint like that.

Re: Set neck strat

The regular joint wouldn't be strong enough. Don't know if gluing it together with the screws would improve anything soundwise.

Calm yourself, mang.

Yes it can be done... I saw one at my local guitar place, it caught my attention because it had the lefty headstock. It was on consignment and the guy wanted 250 for it. No decals, 5 strings, and the neck was glued to the neck pocket with no screws (though the holes where there)... he used... looked like gorilla glue. Stupid idea, IMO.

Blackmore, FTW!

Yes I played it. It was okay... felt like a strat.... but at the same time it didn't feel any better than a normal strat... if anything it felt worse.

Maybe if it was done well... but this wasn't.

And yes, the glue seemed to hold up well under the weight of the strings. ::shrugs::
