'50s Tribute Wiring

Curiosity got the better of me today, so I undressed Millie, and took a couple of snapshots. Thought I'd share 'em, in case anyone else was interested...

Crazy, my 60's Tribute is 'old school' haha. Tiny little caps, but point to point...

Re: '50s Tribute Wiring

I'm giving serious consideration to pulling it out, and replacing it with the Jimmy Page 21-tone mod, once I get a few other things taken care of...and get all the new parts for the conversion, of course.

Re: '50s Tribute Wiring

AFAIK It's a lot easier to change pickups with that wiring, because you just have to pull the connector and get the pup off, then solder a connector on the new pup and put it on.
It's also on my SG Faded.

Re: '50s Tribute Wiring

I am to much of a traditionalist for this! Everything worth wile with guitars was done by 1960

amps I would push that number up to 1970

Re: '50s Tribute Wiring

Found out that my wife is conspiring to get me a set of 4-wire pickups so I can get this mod done. Once it is, all I'll have left to add will be a Vibramate mounted Bigsby.

I'll be sure to take some pics whenever I get started on these.

Those caps were the first thing to go when I got my 60's trib.

I'm sure there are advantages to this type of circuitry, but I'm happy with the old school wiring too.
