Well, If you don't like it you could always give it to someone :cough: me :cough:

I personally think it looks pretty good, maybe let it sit out in the sun a bit to make it a bit less extreme.

Re: How ugly is this?

What you're seeing there is ReRanch's Burst Kit...

I'm running ReRanch up against Colortone in a rattle can nitro review and figured I'd use the respective products straight across the board on each.

What the hell would you call that burst anyway? ... "Les Paul Ala 69 Strat burst"?

The shots make it look a bit more drastic than it actually is (my bench light renders things pretty contrasty) but still...

Yes... Very bright very strange high color rendering florescent... Can't quite tame them no mater what I do to the white balance.

Very nice for working under though.

This is an '08 Standard Heritage Cherry for comparison:

Photographers use filters to tame the florescent
if they have to work under those conditions when
looking for a truer color.

Natural light is better, generally.

Still...digital and print film almost always changes the color.
Some print film tended toward the warm (yellow/orange)
and others toward the cool (bluish cast).

That's where image control programs come in for digital photos. The filters
in the program do a pretty good job of balancing the image.

Yeah, fluorescent sucks for lighting.

Re: How ugly is this?

Daniel, I don't think it looks bad. In fact, I bet that once all the hardware and plastic are on there, it will look a lot better as well. That said, I always thought the ReRanch sunburst kit was really meant for Fender sunbursts...which is how it looks on your guitar.

Dude, that looks beautiful. What's the problem, were you going for a more traditional sunburst? I've already seen a lot of those. I'd pay good money for a guitar that looked like that.

I really like it and the fact that the burst is fat makes it look a lot more vintage correct!

IF you really can't bond with it, try to fade it in the sun.

Re: How ugly is this?

This ain't ugly!
First thought when I saw it "oh nice"! I like it ...
It's not vintage accurate nor one of those standard LP colors,
but that's custom! Like the intensive top + the natural back.
How does it look in daylight?
