I had straplock come undone at practice and my
very expensive and rare 4001 Rickenbacker fell neck first
hit the head, and busted the head off and splintered
the neck half way down.
another time my SG fell off my amp another head first
ride busting its head off.
20 years later i was pissed off at my nieghbors
for yelling at me for playing guitar, so i threw it at the wall
and yes head first again busting the head off, but at least
it was just a Peavy. nice hole in the wall also.

My guitarist did the worst thing i have ever seen though, he
borrowed anothe bands guitar and smashed it on stage, said
he would pay them back when he could afford it.
The guy cold cocked my guitarist and we all clapped.

One reason I gotta Really know or trust somebody before I even think of loaning em one of my guitars, I can prolly count 5 people I know I'd let play Miss Honey

When I was a teen , I was doing roadie duties for my buddies band when they were playing the local civic center , So my pal Vinnie is using his big brothers Dean flying V when all of a sudden a rival band started a fight and during the scuffle the Dean got hammered and broke at the headstock !!

Especialy when your young Those are really nice guitars my
one of my best buddies and guitarist had a black one, I love the
V for a headstock thats really classic.(photo below)

Yeah , I was at one open mic and this guy busted a string, Well I let em use Miss Honey, and he was jumping all over the place, I swore at least four times he came way too close to knockin my headstock clean off. Never broke anything but too many heartstopping moments for me, with my fav axe ! He said thanks after and commented it was nice guitar, I told em thanks, but you will never touch it again after those stage antics . I didnt see him doin that stuff with his! Man Some people!

This guitar (78 Gibson LP Special) used to have P90's. Back in the day, there were no other replacement pickups but DiMarzio and they didn't make any for P90 routes soooooo........





It actually looks good and it has Gibson 500T/496R pickups in it. It sounds great so I'm not too upset. I don't ever plan on selling it so what do I care.

Here's one.

I was installing a Middle pick up in A Tele, might I add, a very nice clean 62 candy apple red Tele.

This Guitar happened to belong to Thomas McClary of the Commodores.

This man is by no means a nobody in the Music world. Hell, he was co-writer of "Thee times a Lady"!

He came into the shop earlier than expected and the job wasn't yet completed.

Anyway, the route was done and now I had to find a way to run the wires to the control cavity. So, with my trusty 12 inch long 1/4 inch diameter drill bit I proceeded to "carefully" drill to the cavity.

My aim was off! I drilled a Hole right through the back of the guitar!! In front of HIM!

I think I got as red as the guitar and apologized, and offered to repair and refinish the body for free.

Thomas said he didn't care, I finished the job, and he thanked and paid me.

He even came back many times and ended up ordering one of my custom instruments and using it for the cover shot of one of his solo albums.

In the early 80s, you couldn't give Custom color Strats away. I have refinished many a candy apple red or lake placid blue Strat in a 3 tone sunburst.

I once Reliced a Stage branded Strat Copy I paid 200 for new....then got 225 as a trade in towards my MIM Strat...So I guess it was a good relic job.....I beat it up with a chain (gently), lightly sanded the neck and literally whittled of some paint where there would be playing wear then I kept it and played it for a year before trading it in for a real fender and got more than I paid for it......so I guess it wasn't a bad thing I did....

I had a hot rodded Epiphone Strat H-S-S back in the 80's, on my way to a gig one night as I loaded my car I put it on the roof as I stuffed things in the trunk and drove off with it still on the roof. I made it about 1/4 of a mile before I heard it slide and watched it hit the pavement in the rear view mirror. Luckily it was just a little bruised on the edge below the input jack and still played and I even finished the gig. The case was trashed but it worked.

#2 Sold an original 1976 Ibanez Explorer (Destroyer), and really regret it. Wish I had it back.

on stage i did a mixture of jimi hendrix and pete townsend on my fake strat (seriously thats the brand) and i beat the hell out of it ,set it on fire and had to stop the fire so i peed on it.
