Re: les pauls with tremolo's, floyd roses and weird crap

Anyone seen one of these? Just bought it (from music shop), and want to know if was built this way, or modified along the way. Looks as if it has had a bit of a hard life, but sound is great. The Bigsby has Epiphone written on it. Shape is stylised 'E' as in Epiphone.

Thanks,Trev

Iīve tried the Les Paul Axcess now and you LOOSE sustain with the floyd rose bridge but not to much so itīs still a wonderfull guitar.
The floyd rose gives the Les Paul a little bit more raw egdie sound...
Wonderfull guitar, to expensive thoug

Regarding the Les Trem Tremolo - can you put the guitar in a case with one of those? Looks doubtful.

Re: les pauls with tremolo's, floyd roses and weird crap

BTW - I had a stetsbar (stetsbar.com) on my Epi LP and I hated it, fwiw. Uneven up/down action - not remotely useful for gentle vibrato type usage.

Re: les pauls with tremolo's, floyd roses and weird crap

Here is my Epi Studio with a Washburn Wonderbar on it.

I didn't want to do any routing so I found the plat that just bolts it on.

Re: les pauls with tremolo's, floyd roses and weird crap

e-Bay of course. The Wonderbar isn't the hard part, the plate that allows you to bolt it to the guitar without routing is the most difficult thing to find. Wonderbars pop up on e-Bay all the time.

This guitar sustains well. Who knows if it would have been better without it.
I removed the trem to clean it recently and it was as heavy as a brick, so it's got a LOT of mass.

I'm just about to do a build and mine will have an 80's kahler 2200 in it too. I like em' and hell I only payed $50 for mine!

My Floyd LP sustaines better than my hardtail models. It came with a Gibson Licensed Floyd, but I put in an original Floyd.

The gibson floyd is a Schaller and OFR is also made by schaller. IMO there was no need to replace yours unless it was all beaten up

It was....rusty and beat. The paint was worn through under the forearm and below the hingh E string on the top. This guitar had seen some serious playing time from a very sweaty person. Plus the guitar is black and all the hardware was black, including the passive Gibson EMG style pickups. It was very ugly. Now everything is chrome on black, it looks fantastic and plays even better.

Re: les pauls with tremolo's, floyd roses and weird crap

Stetsbar is a small company that sells a trem for LPs with no routing and no mods to the body whatsoever. Just remove the stop and bridge and it fits right in. About $300 if I remember right.
