Shaved Backs??

Can someone please tell me why (I am clueless in this area) people shave the necks and backs of their own guitars? If you have done it to your guitar, can you please post pictures??

Thanks so much!!

Re: Shaved Backs??

It just makes it smoother. Some people find a finished neck to be rather sticky. I've never had that problem, but it really does wonders for some folks.

Re: Shaved Backs??

Have you done this to any of your guitars? Because I am thinking of doing it to my own Ace Frehley Epiphone.

Nah, I've never had a problem with the heel on Les Pauls.

Feels alot better than the stock glossy neck.It looks alot better now as its been shined up from my hand oils.It looks nice and feels nice.i suggest you go ahead, you wont regret it!!
Get some 400 grit sand paper, then go to 600 grit and then get some steel wool to finish it off.
