Cap Mod advise

Am I right in thinking that the little caps connecting volume pots to tone pots in the picture of my slash standard are supposed to help with tone?
If so they aren't really that good, can anyone give me an idea of a replacement that won't break the bank and are easy to get hold of in the UK.
Thanks in advance!!

Re: Cap Mod advise

yes the caps are what give you the tone sweep, and yes most agree those disks sound crappy.

check on here, there are a couple of guys selling PIO (paper in oil) caps for very reasonable prices.

and read through the threads on capacitors, lots of info here.
