Hello all,
I just finished installing Seymour Duncans Hot Rod set into one of my Les Pauls. I wired it up for " Spin a Split" and it sounds great. I have a minor problem though. The volume knobs don't respond til I get to about 7 on the dial, so all of my volume is in the last bit of rotation on my volume. I used (4) CTS Long Shaft 500K Audio Taper Pots and wired it per Seymours diagram. I have wired a number of guitars, modified and even built an amp before and haven't ever had a problem? Thanks, John |

Re: Potentiometers and Spin a Splits?
In case anyone else has this problem in the future. I tried some different resistors across the hot tabs on the pots to modify the taper. I started with 220k and worked my way down til I got what I was after. Ended up choosing a 1k ohm. Smooth gradual volume increase from 1-10. I used 1/4 watt resistors they are plenty for this type application, they take up very little room and they are .99 cents for a 6 pack at Radio Shack.
