Rockfield Pickups and Seymour Duncan Triple Shot mounting ring. Shot
Ok I have been in the process of rewiring my guitar (old wiring was [insert profanity here]) and I have the Rockfield SWC Neck and Bridge pickups and i'm puttig them in the Seymour Duncan Triple Shot mounting ring which lets me use the standard series, but also lets me use parallel, and lets me turn one or the other coil off.
But not only is the wiring codes different from Seymour Duncan and Rockfield but the color chart on Duncans site don't have Rockfield pickups on them to directly compare to, but says which wires go to each coil, but on the Rockfield site there wiring codes only say start and end to each color and don't mention what wire goes to each coil, nor the relation to what start and end they are tied to and different plans for both neck and bridge pick, So i think i have my questions, 1. Is there a easy way to find out what wires go to each coil without wiring up the entire guitar (this in my mind could solve my problem alone) 2. The "north" coil is the one that is closest to the neck if the guitar and that don't change to either pickup position (neck/bridge) and has nothing to do with the adjustable coil I think for now thats really all i can think of right now, heres the links to the stuff Wiring Diagram http://www.seymourduncan.com/images/...ot_diagram.pdf http://www.rockfieldpickups.com/images/lrg_bridge.gif http://www.rockfieldpickups.com/images/lrg_neck.gif Thanks for anyones help |

use your red in place of the Duncan pickup green, and vice versa
If you really want you can cut the stock pickup wires off at the back of the pickups and attach them to the triple shot rings. (If it were me I'd rewire the connections to the control cavity, but it's your stuff...) If you have a Les Paul wire it like this:

Re: Rockfield Pickups and Seymour Duncan Triple Shot mounting ring. Shot
Well right now the entire guitar body is 100 percent empty, and nothing it used at all, i have brand new stuff waiting for the tripleshots in the mail, so theres nothing to really cut or undo cause it hasn't been done yet, i just don't know why there 2 different set up's from what i figured is that the black and white go to the slug and the red and green go to the adjustable coil, so should the wiring be different for the neck, cause the bridge is easy enough to do

Re: Rockfield Pickups and Seymour Duncan Triple Shot mounting ring. Shot
What's up the wire connecting the Triple Shot's circuit board to the pots having only 2 wires (black & white) on the circuit board end, but 3 (black, white, and bare ground) on the other end?
Also, does the Triple shot come with said wire? Thanks! Quote:
