Re: First stages of aging my R8
That's cool man.....Now, all you need is a hand axe to take some
chunks of wood out that back side......That should really make the final part of aging look authenic......LOL..... I wonder if the bar-b-que pit would make it smoke better and help the plastics....... It really has that patina look going on....... Good job, it looks great..... |

Re: First stages of aging my R8
Hey!
Thats just awesome!!!!! I did several guitars and sold them on ebay. It was always fun for me to do and i got good responses. But this one looks killer!!!! I know how hard it can be and how much patience you need to do this! Big compliment for that!!!! |

Re: First stages of aging my R8
Nico, The Gibson guys are going to visit you and figure out how you got this one closer than their Collectors Choice......
Looks like a true Road Warrior...... Just perfect....... Only thing left to do is drag it down the road behind a truck for that road kill patina...... |

Thanks....well most of the work left is on the back, and i still have not decided if i will touch the back of the neck or not. A new vintage correct tail piece is still missing from the hardware, but soon i will get my hands on one. |

Re: First stages of aging my R8
Those last few photos even look like some Kodak film developed and scanned. You know, the kind we see on burstserial frequently. Something about the lighting.
Who's PG is that? One of Dans older ones? btw - I think you must do the back of the neck. It's got to match. You could always age it, then shoot clear over it and sand/buff it if you prefer the feel of unaged finish. Then you get the look and feel you like! |

Thanks!
If you want to enhance the check on a gold top you will need those cake coloring liquids, find the green one, it's great. |
