Re: Kahler vs. Floyd Rose
Interesting but it's difficult to take the word of a Slayer fan when talking tech and tone

Re: Kahler vs. Floyd Rose
Kahler: Easier to install (even an monkey could do it...lol)
can be put on any guitar without extreme modifation No string cutting....... but no real offical locking nut... Floyd rose: Timeless classic NEEDS A PRO TO INSTALL, GUITARS WITH ARCHEDTOPS ARE IMPOSSIBLE MOST OF THE TIME........... dependable, some leinsed models dont need to have strings cut EXTREME WAH ACTION!!!! id go with the floyd.......

Re: Kahler vs. Floyd Rose
stud mount Kahlers don't require much as far as installation, but a standard Kahler requires a pretty big rout. I've never liked Kahlers whatsoever. You most certainly can install Floyds on arched/carved top guitars. It may not be a drop in, but it most certainly can be done. Hell, there's a youtube video of some guy installing one on an acoustic!

Re: Kahler vs. Floyd Rose
I don't have a preference. Then again the only tremolos I've used are the standard Fender one and a Kahler that is mounted on a SuperStrat I picked up ages ago.

Re: Kahler vs. Floyd Rose
That is something that is also in my standard setup. Apart from the Ibanez TS7 the only pedal I use.

Re: Kahler vs. Floyd Rose
I have guitars with both.
I prefer the Kahler. It is smoother and give the neck that "slinky" feel. The Floyds are good, they just seem very cranky/notchy to me. To each his own though.
