Les Paul Build, NEED HELP!!
Hey everyone, I'm new to these forums, and a long time Gibson fan. Im currently a student at NCSU, and am taking what is basically a glorified shop class. For our final project, we have to build something that uses several materials (metal, wood, and plastics being the main focus of the class) and as I cannot afford one while being in college, I was hoping to be able to make a Les Paul replica. What I'm hoping to find from you guys is the general specs of a Les Paul. I have a template of the body from a previous student, but am unsure about heights, placement and dimensions of pickups/bridge/etc, what woods i should use to make the body/neck, and is the headpeice and neck a single peice (i think i remember reading that Epiphones are 2 peice while Gibsons are 1)
Overall any help you guys could give would be great, the semester just started so i have plenty of time to gather everything together, but i would like to get started as soon as I could. So if anyone can direct me to blueprints, bill of materials, what hardware i should try and get, wiring diagrams, or anything I'm forgetting, I will be eternally grateful. Thanks in advance guys, im really looking forward to this project! |

Re: Les Paul Build, NEED HELP!!
If you refer to yourself as a fan you are not worthy of this info...jk
Just use the search function on this site, there are so many threads with specs and woods and everything you could think of already out there. good luck
