None taken. I have good taste, you don't!

I've tried 'em all, pretty much. That's my favorite. That and Grolsch.

An excellent suggestion from Quill, from another thread.

Re: Home of the River Bottom Blues Band

This one's a bit, uh, different. Four verses in C, but with a II thrown into the I-IV-V mix, and using extended chord structures in the 2nd and 3rd verses. This should support some pretty unorthodox noodlings.

The bass player's not "with it" enough to follow me through the II, so it'll be much cleaner once Leumas gets his hands on it.

I needs a better name, so if anyone's got any ideas...

Re: Home of the River Bottom Blues Band

ok - couldn't resist... Some licks over the jazz chord shuffle that River's just put up. Thought I'd do this one on my R4 - P90's to the fore!

Note - in this context any bum notes heard are jazz notes .

Re: slower than that...

Wicked vibe there, Check. I could picture that as soundtrack to a movie where a hot chick is peeling layers off. I guess I could kind of bring up that mental picture to any song, but this one especially...

It took having a child for me. Weird just like walking through a door and being on a different side of yourself. Mornings are enjoyable now.

I'll re-record it tonight and post up asap. Got the house to myself for about 3 hours so I can take some time on it. Lazy lead sounds good to me.

Re: Home of the River Bottom Blues Band

I've been going back through all of the submissions, and still love what's going on here. Been too busy to play much, let alone get some time to record (especially since I decided that River - and the rest of you rhythm gurus - deserve far better than my "first take" recordings.

Checked... "Slower Than That" is freakin' sweet!

Check out "Slower than that 2". I played to a metronome this time. Kinda hissy but tighter.

Thanks whip. My wife's ready to choke me because I have been in the bat cave just about every day for the last week.

LOL, yes sir. First take recordings will keep coming. I'll warm up more beforehand, though. Does that work? I haven't been feeling it the last couple of times I've tried to record to a track (and Leumas and Checked have some fantastic stuff that I wanted to sink my teeth into), so I've just been doing some solo noodling. Tonight, I'm playing away my blues...

Posted a new clip:
The Dark Room - new track.

And in case it hasn't been said already, River you have standing permission to put anything you wish from my Soundclick on the Band's site.

I love the tone on that whip! That'd sound great with some 2 note chords on the high strings, breaks up just right.

Re: Home of the River Bottom Blues Band

So last night I sat down for 15-20 minutes and tried to lay something down on River's "Stripper" track. I just couldn't connect the dots.

Some days I can play some semi-respectable riffage. Amatuer all the way, but it's ok. Other days, well, other days I couldn't keep it flowing to save my life... Really, about as inspiring as oatmeal.

Ever have those days?

Oh yeah. Had one Monday, and between that and some seriously sore fingers I've barely picked up a guitar in almost 48 hours now. I'm getting the shakes, though. Need a fix.
