My first gig in almost 30 years...

I played my first gig in almost 30 years this past weekend. My son convinced me to get back into it so after many months of putting the right group of guys together, "Temporary Saint" hit the stage at "The 5-Spot" in Atlanta. We opened for my son's band "Half Black Lit Shack" (they're an alternative/funk/rock group) and played an hour set of that "old school" southern fried blues rock. I have to admit I was a little nervous, but I had a blast. I can't wait to do this again!!! Just goes to show that you're never too old to chase your dreams...

(Thanks to my cousin Kevin Griggs for the photographs of the event)

Very cool man! I tried to get my old man back into playing with a group of guys, but he's pretty obstinate. Stuck in his old ways I guess.

Cool stuff!
Congrads for getting it together.
Someday I may be in the minds set again. All I've done in the last 20 years have been a couple of coffee houses and recording at a studio.

Good for you and your son too for getting his old man back on the boat

Very cool LJ! Looks like a nice venue too! How'd the band sound as a unit? Any more gigs lined up?

You are an example to somone like me, its over 10 years since my last gig and it seems like yesterday. What with my two year old son and all the fun that goes with him, I dont get to play that much at all these days. Rock on dude
